Curriculum vitae
Dr. Julia Wager is head of the research department at the German
Pediatric Pain Center and Palliative Care Center, Children’s and
Adolescents’ Hospital Datteln – Witten/Herdecke University, Germany, and
scientific director of PedScience, an extramural research institute. By
training, she is a psychologist and pediatric psychotherapist (CBT). Dr.
Wager’s main research interests are outcome measurement, health service
research and evaluation of complex interventions in pediatric pain
therapy and pediatric palliative care. She has obtained third-party
research funds adding up to more than 5 Mio. Euros, conducted several
multi-center clinical trials and has published more than 100 scientific
peer-reviewed manuscripts (h-index 24). Since 2019, Dr. Wager is the
chairperson of the Special Interest Group “Pain in Children and
Adolescents” of the German Pain Society.
