Elisabet Sánchez is a psychologist who obtained her PhD in Assessment and Measurement of Behavior at Universitat Rovira i Virgili in 2015.
Currently, she is an Associate professor at the Department of Psychology at Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV), where she is the coordinator of the area of "Personality, Assessment and Psychological Treatment" (since 2021) and the coordinator of the Master's Thesis in the Master program in Health Psychology (since 2015).
She is a member of the Unit for the Study and Treatment of Pain - ALGOS and of the Chair in Pediatric Pain at URV. She is also the Secretary of the Special Interest Group in "Psychology and Pain" of the Spanish Pain Society as well as an active member of the Special Interest Group in "Pediatric Pain" from the same Society. Her professional interests revolve around the prevention of chronic pain and disability in children. She has participated (and still does) in studies aimed at assessing the prevalence of chronic pain in children and adolescents as well as risk factors for the development of pain problems in this population.
She is currently the Principal Investigator of the Project "Prevendol: Prevention of post-surgical chronic pain in children and adolescents" (MCIN/AEI/10.13039/501100011033; PID2020-113869RA-I00). This project is carried out in collaboration with several Spanish hospitals.
She has published 57 articles in international peer-reviewed journals and presented more than 75 posters and oral communications in both national and international congresses.
